The Canadian Automotive Jury announces its fifth annual Best of the Best Finalists

2014 CAJ BOB Finalists By John LeBlanc The Canadian Automotive Jury (CAJ) has announced its fifth annual Best of the Best Finalists, with full representation from European, North American and Asian automakers. Amidst the usual parade of “car of the year” awards handed out at this point in the calendar, the annual Best of the Best Awards are unique in Canada. The not-for-profit organization is independently funded by its 11 Jurors, all veteran automotive journalists who account for the vast majority of automotive industry coverage in Canada, including MSN Autos Canada writers David Booth, Petrina Gentile and John LeBlanc. The 2013 Finalists reflect a wide variety of vehicles available to Canadian new-car buyers. Including the reigning 2013 CAJ Best of the Best Winner — the Cadillac ATS, which is an automatic finalist — the dozen Finalists don’t exclusively focus on a specific model within a family of vehicles or only “all-new” models. For the 2014 Best of the Best Winner, Jury members have nominated from Germany the mid-size Audi RS7 four-door coupé, compact BMW 4 Series Coupé, compact Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class and Volkswagen Jetta Turbo Hybrid compact. Asia is represented by the Jaguar F-Type roadster from India, the compact Mazda3, mid-size Mazda6 and Infiniti Q50 sedans from Japan and the Kia Forte compact from Korea. The three North American finalists, the aforementioned Cadillac ATS compact sports sedan, Chevrolet Corvette Stingray sports car and Chevrolet Impala full-size sedan, all come from America’s General Motors. From these 12 Finalists, CAJ members will select a final 2014 Best of the Best winner, to be announced in January at the Montreal auto show. Source: The Canadian Automotive Jury
