2014 New York: 2015 Nissan Murano
Story and photos by John LeBlanc As previewed by the Nissan Resonance Concept from the 2013 Detroit auto show comes the production 2015 Nissan Murano. First seen in 2002, the original Murano was one of the first midszie crossovers — and a stylish one at that. And the new, third-generation continues that tradition with such dramatic touches such as its so-called "V-Motion" nose, floating D-pillars and the Japanese automaker's distinctive boomerang-shaped head- and taillights. The interior of the all-wheel-drive, five-passenger, four-door 2015 Nissan Murano feels and looks more upscale than the outgoing model. A massive sunroof and luxury touches like heated and cooled front seats are highlights. Less radical is the 2015 Murano’s powertrain, a carryover 3.5-litre six-cylinder gas engine mated to a continuously variable transmission. However, an emphasis on cutting the Nissan crossover’s curbweight sees its maker claiming an overall 20 per cent reduction in fuel consumption. Expect the 2015 Murano to go on-sale in Canada later this year.04.21.14 | 2015, Auto Shows, New York, News, Nissan | Comments Off on 2014 New York: 2015 Nissan Murano
