2014 Geneva Motor Show: Alfa Romeo 4C Spider Prototype
Story and photos by John LeBlanc GENEVA - Following the concept two-seat sports car hardtop version that debuted here in Geneva two years ago, Fiat-Chrysler’s sporty Alfa Romeo brand unveiled the 4C Spider Prototype at this years show for fans of open-air motoring. And in addition to its new convertible capabilities, the 4C Spider Prototype also addresses one of the biggest beefs with the coupe with a new set of carbon-fibre clamshell headlights that look less insect-like. The Alfa Romeo 4C Spider Prototype’s drivetrain is identical to the hardtop version with a 240 horsepower, turbocharged 1.8-litre four-cylinder gas engine and a six-speed dual-clutch autobox. Despite an added 60 kilograms of weight, the convertible will match the 4C coupe’s 4.5 seconds 0-100 kilometres per hour time and 250 kms/hr top speed. Expect the 4C Spider to go into production within the next year.03.06.14 | 2014, Alfa Romeo, Auto Shows, Geneva, News | Comments Off on 2014 Geneva Motor Show: Alfa Romeo 4C Spider Prototype
